NEW ACADEMY SET TO TRANSFORM UK MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
People are the heart of every business and their performance directly impacts profitability and productivity. Enabling people to deliver their full potential through the application of effective and appropriate learning enables businesses to compete in the ever competitive global market place. This is never truer than in the manufacturing industries.
UK Manufacturing is suffering from skills shortages that are hampering its ability to compete in world markets. Whilst there are many examples of quality programmes that meet employers' skills needs, much of the current provision misses the mark.
With employers firmly in the driving seat, the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing (NSA-M) has been created as a centre of excellence. It is tackling skills priorities for the UK manufacturing sector and develop top-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions to training and development issues
Led by SEMTA, the Sector Skills Council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies, together with leading industry employers, NSA-M is part of a network of academies the Government have established for all the major sectors of the economy to improve productivity and tackle skills shortages across the UK.
The Academy develops, runs and validates world class manufacturing industry training for businesses who want to perform more effectively in the global market and people improve their careers.
Delivered by expert trainers, the courses have been carefully designed to make sure that whoever attends, from apprentice to board level, is able to put the training to work with immediate bottom line impact on their companies.
Each UK region will have its own spoke manager to meet the manufacturing businesses needs locally. We are proud that the London spoke is based at CEME.
