The Environment
Our environment is set up to work for everyone regardless of background, gender, race and age. Creating the physical environment where students can do their best learning, both independently and in company is critical. With light and airy open and shared collaboration areas, cafes, outdoor seating, communal restaurant, a lake, landscaped gardens, our aim is to make our students feel relaxed and inspired every single day of their learning experience at CEME.
CEME's commitment to sustainable energy is underlined by its innovative adoption of photovoltaic technology. In August 2002, CEME was awarded a grant by the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) to deploy 100KW peak of renewable energy, which will generate between 10% and 15% of the site's electricity requirements.
CEME also has installed another 90KW peak solar panels. This would make array of panels one of the largest in the UK, generating 190KW peak.
The contribution of these state-of-the-art energy saving initiatives is expected to save around 25% of CEME's annual utility bill.
