‘May the best company win’ in Havering Business Awards

The three companies shortlisted for the Innovation category of the 2007 Havering Business Awards would all be worthy winners, says Bill Williams, Chief Executive of CEME, sponsor of the Innovation Award.

‘We were delighted to take part in the judging and visit the three companies. Our judge came away very impressed with all three so the winner will truly have earned that accolade” he said. “We wish them and all the other finalists good luck at the Awards and in the future.”

The three companies are:

  • West & Coe, one of the UK’s largest independent firms of funeral directors
  • Nationwide Telephone Assistance, a leading provider of telephony services packaged to meet customers’ needs
  • Avalon, a professional abseiling company delivering anything from the smallest repair job through to complete exterior refurbishment of entire blocks of buildings.

The Innovation Award celebrates the use of technology and innovation in business. Mr. Williams said: “Innovation, whether it’s in the use of IT, development of new products or services or even new management techniques, is critical for companies to get ahead and stay ahead of the competition. And CEME was set up to provide a complete package of training and skills development in all these areas for companies of all sizes.”

The Havering Business Awards is earning a justified reputation as one of the top awards events in the UK.
