CEME is pleased to be hosting a high profile event on October 18, 2007 to show support for football's anti-racism campaign Kick It Out. Activities and information were provided for up to 100 school children in Barking and Dagenham as well as the Havering and Newham boroughs.
CEME Ltd, a not for profit company, was formed as a partnership between Ford Motor Company, London Development Agency, Barking and Havering Further Education Colleges and the Heart of Thames Gateway. The £50 million campus opened in September 2003 and is a key part of the Thames Gateway, the largest regeneration project of its type in Europe.
By providing educational, training and business development opportunities, CEME is a beacon for the future development and prosperity of individuals and organisations with an interest in the manufacturing, engineering and technology sector. CEME is committed to the future regeneration of the local area by inspiring and sharing leading edge, best practice knowledge and skills application.
Ford of Britain chairman Roelant de Waard and Kick It Out chairman Lord Ouseley attended the day's events, including football-related learning at CEME in Rainham. This is the second year that Ford have run Kick it Out at CEME following the event’s success last year.
Gary Lewin (Arsenal & England phsyio), Bobby Barnes (assistant chief exec, PFA), West Ham players as well as Dagenham & Redbridge players were available to help budding players hone their footballing skills on penalty shoot-out games in between learning more about the Kick It Out campaign.
