CEME Hosts Kick It Out
20/10/2011
CEME once again hosted the annual Kick It Out event on Thursday 13th October. Sponsored by Ford UK, Kick It Out was launching their ‘One Game, One Community’ week of action attended by a host of sports stars and a Hollywood actor.
Kick It Out is football’s equality and inclusion programme which works throughout football, education and the community sectors to challenge discrimination whilst encouraging inclusive practices and working for positive change. The campaign, established in 1997, is supported by the games governing bodies.
The event, attended by over 100 local schoolchildren, was opened by Kick It Out chair, Lord Herman Ouseley, who emphasised the role that youngsters have in building a society to be proud of.
Former Chelsea and Celtic star, Paul Elliott, and Hollywood actor Winston Ellis were joined by a host of sports stars. The day offered a range of different sports related exercises including a cricket coaching session with former England Captain Graham Gooch and Essex bowler Graham Napier.
