Local MP Visits AA Training at CEME
Local MP for Dagenham and Rainham, Jon Cruddas, visited the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) on Friday 4th November and toured the Campus with CEO, Bill Williams.
The visit coincided with the successful completion of a three week AA course to train selected Patrols on a new roadside vehicle diagnostic unit. Visiting the engineering workshops to see the work of the AA who were using the CEME facilities for their training, Mr Cruddas commented: “It’s great to see a flagship company like the AA working at CEME, researching new technologies and developing their engineers’ skills on the CEME campus. This trial is being undertaken at only three sites in the UK, so for CEME to be one of those sites is good news indeed”.
With modern vehicles becoming ever more complex and often incorporating over 30 separate electronic control units (ECU), emergency roadside service providers need to have the very latest diagnostic tools to be able to offer customers the very best service. The AA has just embarked on a five month project to evaluate three different units commencing with Patrol training.
