First-ever TechVent shines light on top tech

The inaugural TechVent expo opened at CEME with a showpiece of the latest technologies and trends that are transforming the business world.

The event featured awe-inspiring demos and a comprehensive speaker programme from industry-leaders across a range of sectors.

Visitors were treated to demonstrations of show-stopping technology, such as interactive projection mapping and augmented reality apps from the award-winning Zappar.

Aspiring entrepreneurs were also able to hear from thought leaders in start-up crowdfunding, gaming, coding and the digital landscape.

An expert panel was also held to discuss openly the benefits of social media networking when launching a business and how to create a buzz around a potential project prior to seeking investment.

Tom Ashby, Commercial Director at CEME Innovation Centre said: “As the proud home of innovation, TechVent allowed us to celebrate the fast-moving digital landscape and set in stone our ongoing commitment in providing a platform of growth for driving aspiring entrepreneurs to success.”

Rikki Lempert, Managing Director of Smart Sim, said:”TechVent was a great opportunity to network with a range of interesting businesses and high-profile local decision-makers. The amazing line-up of speakers provided an invaluable insight into their industries and growing a start-up from the ground up.”

TechVent officially open CEME Launchpad Centre with the ribbon cutting performed by Madam Mayor, Philippa Crowder.
