New Faces: Welcome Brian, our Facilities Engineer
Welcome, Brian Wallings to the CEME Community!
A few words from Brian…
My role here at CEME is the Facilities Engineer. My responsibilities are quite a broad & varied remit, covering the infrastructure of the building, depending on the needs of the company. Areas of direct responsibility might include environmental, health, and safety issues. The overall aim of my role is to ensure that routine facility utility & maintenance processes are carried out in the safest, most time-efficient, and cost-effective ways, possible. To achieve this is through review and modification of existing processes, as well as the implementation of new procedures, or improvements. I am also responsible for the engineering stores, whereby I take care of the requirements, from a tooling perspective, of the Ford Apprentices under the guidance of Skillnet.
I started here at CEME on 1st September 2020, having previously been furloughed for 4 months & subsequently being made redundant from my previous job because of COVID-19.
People have always been, for me, the best part of my experience when I go to work, (you appreciate the social connectivity even more when you have had 4 months off). I feel that in the short space of time I have been here, everyone I have had the pleasure of meeting, have made me very welcome & part of a team, rather than just one of the workforce.
